Tonight, me and Carolyn were heading to Grand Central so she could catch a train home. It was around 10:45. We stood at the metrocard machine so she could get one. We were both kind of really high. Then I felt something against my leg. I looked down and saw a hand reaching for my wallet inside my front pocket. I went to grab my wallet and he reached around and started fighting with me for it. I didn’t scream or anything because i’m not a screamer for some reason so carolyn didn’t really know what was happening. We continued to fight for it. He was like barely trying and I kind of felt like it was a joke, but at the same time I knew it wasn’t worth it to kick or fight because I didn’t know if he had a weapon or something. I didn’t even see his face. So eventually when he got me down on the ground I just let him have it. Then Carolyn started yelling and shit, and people just kept walking by. The dude ran up the stairs and was gone.
I got up and Carolyn asked me if I was alright and I was except I got really scared and just started to cry a little bit. We went and told the woman in the little subway office thing what happened and she called the cops. We told her what happened and then I looked over at the stairs and saw two eyes poking out. I kept looking and then Carolyn looked over and he put his hand out and made a ‘come here’ gesture with his index finger. We went over and he asked Carolyn “Where’s my phone?” and she was like “What?!” and then I came over and he threw my wallet to me and ran back up the stairs. I looked in the wallet and everything was there except my cash which was only about 11 dollars or maybe less. We were both just fucking confused.
Then we told the lady and she was like wtf? The cops came and we told them what happened and they let us in the subway for free even tho it didn’t really matter at that point because i got my wallet back, which means I got my monthly subway card back (idiot) and Carolyn had already bought her card. But anyway, we just went to Grand Central and bought some candy. NBD.
